Sensuron Expands Globally with Strategic Partnership with OgMentum
AUSTIN, TX, April 4, 2016 – Sensuron, a global provider of compact fiber optic sensing (FOS) systems, today announced a new strategic partnership with OgMentum, a leader in global sales and channel management of fiber optic sensing products. The partnership will allow Sensuron to expand globally, bringing its FOS technology into markets in Asia Pacific.
The fiber optic sensing market within some Asian markets is expanding at a higher rate than any other region globally, with China alone forecast to grow 25 percent year over year through 2018. Under the partnership, OgMentum will be the exclusive distributor of Sensuron’s FOS platforms in Asia and the Pacific. Having access to the most advanced FOS technology in the market will enable OgMentum’s customers to further advance their innovations across the automotive and research industries.
“We are excited for the opportunity to offer our fiber optic sensing platforms to customers across Asia Pacific by partnering with OgMentum,” said Michael Heflin, CEO of Sensuron. “Their history of enabling customer success and developing sales channels with help solidify Sensuron as a global leader in fiber optic sensing solutions.”
Building upon technology originally developed in conjunction with NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center, Sensuron’s FOS technology was an R&D 100 award winner in 2013 and finalist in 2015. Sensuron offers a series of scalable FOS platforms that are currently being used to enhance performance and safety in automotive, aerospace, energy, and medical applications. With thousands of sensors per fiber and the ability to sense multiple parameters simultaneously, Sensuron’s platforms allow customers to consolidate multiple measurement technologies into a single platform.
“Partnering with Sensuron strengthens our current product portfolio and provides our customers with the most advanced fiber optic sensing solution on the market,” said Jake Weise, President of OgMentum. “Sensuron’s scalable line of fiber optic sensing platforms allows customers to tailor their sensing system to their application needs without extensive upgrade costs.”

What’s Compact Fiber Optic Sensing?
FOS technologies collect and analyze material and structural data based on changes in the way light moves down a fiber optic cable. FOS technologies extract environmental parameters such as strain loads, temperature gradients, as well as 2D and 3D shape sensing when light is passed through a network of hair-thin fibers. By measuring the changes in how light reflects back given various changes in these parameters, FOS technology can provide real-time monitoring of applications, helping to ensure the integrity, efficiency and long-term durability of equipment.
